Alan McCabe has booked Kieren Fallon for Caspar Netscher in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
The Nottinghamshire trainer has acted quickly to snap up the six-time champion at Churchill Downs for his Gimcrack and Mill Reef winner.
Robert Winston, who usually rides Caspar Netscher, is unable to take the mount on November 5 as he will be serving a suspension.
Fallon successfully filled in for Winston in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury last month.
McCabe reports Caspar Netscher in fine form after his latest run in the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket, where he was a close fifth to Crusade.
“He’s come out of Newmarket very well. His work has been good since then and we’re very happy with him,” McCabe said.
“He’s in the Breeders’ Turf Mile and in the Sprint on the Friday, but he’s going to go for the Mile on turf.
“Kieren’s going to ride him as Robert’s banned which is unfortunate as he’s done such a good job on him all year.
“As when Robert got banned the last time, Kieren rode him at Newbury.
“We discussed with the owner about using an American jockey, but Kieren said he was going out there so he was the first choice to ride,” McCabe told At The Races.
